About Us
Our Story:
From creative industries to compassionate care
We’re Chris and Adenike, husband and wife, and the leaders of Temperance Care.
Before entering social care, we built successful careers in creative and corporate industries. But something was missing. When the opportunity arose to take over a family care service, we knew it was the right moment to step into work that truly mattered.
We took on the service during one of the most challenging periods the sector has faced. It was demanding, humbling, and deeply personal. What began as a leap of faith quickly became our calling.
Over the years, we’ve come to know many of the people we support not just through care plans, but through real relationships. We understand their histories, strengths, and aspirations. We advocate for them, stand up for what’s right, and make sure their voices are heard.
That’s what family does. And that’s the kind of care we believe in.

What it means to be a family-run service
-
Present and accountable: We’re visible, involved, and engaged in daily care, not distant directors.
-
Relationship-based: Our model prioritises connection, stability, and emotional safety.
-
Responsive decision-making: We reduce red tape and act quickly in the best interests of the people we support.
-
Personal pride: Every placement, every home, and every team member matters to us.
